Seasons of Hope

Since it's always the season to demand a more equitable and fair society, this premiere of the Olney Home Hour will be retitled "Seasons of Hope." Our ensemble, staff, and guests will share their hopes for a more just society through songs, skits, and stories, and celebrate voices from our past that have called for a better world. Special performances from Brittany Campbell and a spotlight on the Montgomery County Lynching Memorial Project will pave the way for the 2021 installment of our impactful program JUST ARTS: A CELEBRATION OF ARTS AND ACTIVISM, that premieres live this summer on our Root Family Stage.
The Olney Home Hour is an online, monthly revue featuring Eleasha Gamble, Jessica Lauren Ball, Jay Frisby, and Bobby Smith. Joined by a special guest host for each installment, every month celebrates the season with songs, skits, and the feeling of community that has made Olney Theatre so special for so long.
The Olney Home Hour is free to view. However, we welcome your donations of support, and if you are interested in sponsoring an actor, episode or the whole program, get in-touch.

Alan is best known as "Alan" the proprietor of Hooper’s Store on Sesame Street for the past 20 seasons of the most influential children's show ever. Olney audiences however also know as a director of past seasons' shows Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific and Once On This Island.

She wowed critics and audiences alike as Olivia, the emotionally conflicted daughter of an undocumented immigrant in Miss You Like Hell. Now she returns for the Olney Home Hour: Seasons of Renewal. It makes sense that our youngest guest host ushers in spring.

5/7 Guest Host: Brittany Campbell
Brittany Campbell is beyond a triple-threat. She's a quintuple-threat an award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, animator, and actress. Since starring as Eliza Doolittle in OTC's My Fair Lady, Brittany has joined the Chicago cast of Hamilton and released her own album. Her song, "Matter" was included in the NPR 2020 Timeline of Protest Music.
