Kim's Convenience

The inspiration for the hit Netflix series of the same name, Ins Choi’s award-winning comedy, introduces us to the Kims, a Korean immigrant family whose foibles belie serious tensions between assimilated daughter Janet and her parents. Located in Toronto’s rapidly gentrifying Regent's Park, Appa has been offered a lucrative buy-out for his store. With Janet more invested in her photography career and his son Jung long-estranged, it may be his only option. Choi leavens the clash of old ways and new opportunities with a heavy dose of humor as Appa, Umma, Jung, and Janet attempt to heal old wounds.

Synetic Theater's Production of A Midsummer Night's Dream

For over twenty years, in-the-know DC audiences have thrilled to the magic of wordless Shakespeare from Synetic Theatre, called by the Washington Post “the region’s premier troupe for physical theater.” Now, Olney Theatre Center introduces Maryland audiences to Synetic's thrilling, kinetic performances with one of their most acclaimed, groundbreaking productions! Love-drunk teens stumble upon a troupe of wannabe actors and find themselves caught in a war between the Fairy King and Queen…and that’s before one wily sprite intent on mischief-making sprinkles a little fairy dust. What could possibly go wrong?! This playful adaptation of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream features Synetic’s trademark wordless storytelling and is the winner of two Helen Hayes Awards for Outstanding Resident Play and Outstanding Ensemble.

All-Access Membership FAQs and Policies
When can I begin taking advantage of my membership?
Once you have purchased of your membership, you will receive an email confirmation that will give you a special link that will allow you to initially begin booking tickets. The next day you will be able to login to your account to make ticket reservations and/or purchases without needing to use the link.
Can I let someone else use my tickets?
No. Your membership is non-transferable. If your tickets are in use, you must be in attendance. If you are unable to come on your performance date, please call or email the box office and let us know so we can either exchange you into another performance or release your seats.
Is there an exchange fee if I need to change my dates?
No, members do not pay ticket exchange fees.
How do I cancel my membership?
The all-access membership automatically renews on the 15th of the final month of this quarter’s membership period. Not planning on renewing? You can cancel your membership by
- Emailing boxofficesupervisor@olneytheatre.org by the 10th of the final month in this membership period
- Filling out the cancellation form sent to the email you used to place your order. This is sent on the 1st day of the final month of your membership period.
Unless you provide written notice of cancellation, your all-access membership will renew on the 15th (or the first following business day, should the 15th fall on a weekend) in the final month of this quarter’s 3-month period.
Please note that the cost of your membership will decrease when you renew. The July - September membership is more expensive because of the volume of programming during that period.
Are there other member benefits and discounts?
Yes. Save on food and drinks at Joe's Players Club, Paul's Place, and at our Gift Shop in The Room. You also get discounted member prices on any additional ticket you purchase. Behind the Scenes programs are also always free to members and include conversations with directors, designers, journalists and other experts that deepen your experience of the productions you see.
