Community at the Center of Olney

Olney Theatre Center is transforming and broadening the way we engage with our community. With our five guiding principles for our work–Outreach, Participation, Creativity, Gathering, and Civic Duty–we specifically aim to deepen relationships with those who have historically felt unwelcome and underrepresented here through equitable and sustainable partnerships and collaborations. Read more about our Mission, Vision, and Values.

What We Do

  • Season-related events like Behind the Scenes and Beyond the Stage that open up and deepen the conversations around the themes of our productions.
  • Host Community Mixers and our annual open house SummerFest
  • Provide more opportunities for people to access and engage with theatre-making through our touring ensemble National Players and our New Voices Festival.
  • Work with the Community Engagement Committee to support the interests and goals of all our community members over and beyond what’s on stage.

Join Our Community Engagement Committee

Under our guiding principle of Participation we have created a Community Engagement Committee (CEC), a unique group of people that consists of members of the community from all walks of life who help us make connections and advise us on our programming. We invite you to join us in this journey.

Complete this form if you want to join the Community Engagement Committee.

Share Our Space

Under the pillar of Gathering we want to make our spaces on campus accessible to everyone. If you are interested in utilizing one of our spaces, complete this form. Availability depends on our production and event schedules.
