Alex Palting performs her original blues song inspired by the 874 letters her grandparents wrote to one another from across the ocean—her grandmother in Manila, and her grandfather in the U.S. The song explores “the fear, courage, loss and wonder I imagine he must have felt as he left the Philippines.”
