Associate Lighting Supervisor: Shape the Magic Behind the Scenes!

Olney Theatre Center, a dynamic and growing regional theater just outside Washington, D.C., is seeking an Associate Lighting Supervisor to join our collaborative production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to directly impact the artistic vision of multiple productions across our state-of-the-art four-venue campus, working alongside nationally recognized designers and artists.

You'll work alongside our Lighting Supervisor, contributing to every stage of a production, from installation to programming, and even mentoring the next generation of theater professionals.
What You'll Do
- Lead the Charge: Assist in managing our Electrics Department, ensuring smooth operations across all venues.
- Bring Stages to Life: Oversee the installation and maintenance of all lighting systems and equipment for our diverse range of productions in each of the theatre's producing spaces (Robert's Main Stage, Theatre Lab, Bernard Family Stage, and Root Family Stage).
- Master the Boards: Serve as a programmer for Olney Theatre Center Lab productions, and a select number of other engagements, bringing creative lighting designs to fruition.
- Mentor and Inspire: Help recruit and train our annual Electrics Apprentices, sharing your knowledge and passion.
- Support the Vision: Contribute to special events and rentals, expanding your experience beyond mainstage productions.
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years of experience in theatrical lighting, including but not limited to, hanging, rigging, cabling, and networking.
- Advanced knowledge of lighting software, including Vectorworks, LightWright, and ETC EOS family consoles.
- Ability to solder and wire effectively.
- A natural leader and a collaborative team player.
- Commitment to our mission of artistic rigor, a desire to help us grow our rich tapestry of cultures and ideas, and a dedication to collaboration
- A commitment to cleanliness, maintenance, and order
- A valid U.S. Driver's License and the ability to lift up to 75lbs and work at heights. OSHA Safety and MEWP certification preferred.

We offer a competitive salary of $49,000 annually, comprehensive health insurance, paid vacation, life insurance, FSA, and a 403B, and a supportive, creative atmosphere. You'll report directly to the Lighting Supervisor and oversee our dedicated team members including Apprentice Electricians and Overhires.
