Community event to promote voting and registration.

Event Highlights:

• Voter Registration Booths by Montgomery County Election Board
• On-site voter registration assistance.
• Help with checking registration status and updating voter information.
• Interactive Activities:
  • Postcard decoration (non-partisan messaging) 
  • Create a “promote the vote” sign
  • Color and fill in voting plans for local elections
• Resource Fair
• Access to informational materials on voting rights, upcoming elections, and how to participate in local governance.
• Tables with brochures, fact sheets, and contact information for further inquiries.’

Yellow Roses

The Yellow Roses is an organization that empowers young people to participate in their democracy, even if they are too young to vote. Since 2020, The Yellow Roses have been organizing community events that bring together families for service learning projects, non-partisan "get out the vote" events, social justice story times, and local park clean-ups. Their activities show young people that no matter your age- you can make a difference in your community. The name "The Yellow Roses" comes from the women's suffrage movement- when people wore yellow roses to demonstrate their support for voting equality. More than 100 years later, The Yellow Roses continue to carry on the legacy of fighting for equality and voting rights. By empowering young people to take action and speak up, The Yellow Roses hope to encourage the next generation of advocates to believe in themselves and see the change they can create in the world.
