Chai Dynamics is a fast rising Jewish a cappella group from Montgomery County Maryland. Formed in 2009 at Shaare Torah, we bring the energetic and popular style of collegiate singing to our community. All songs are performed without any instrumental accompaniment. We use multi-part harmonies and intricate arrangements to create a rich sound using only the human voice.

You can find us performing at local synagogues, senior residences, schools, community events and private affairs. Members have wide-ranging musical backgrounds, but we welcome anyone with a desire to share in our passion for creating outstanding music. With a repertoire ranging from traditional Jewish melodies and holiday tunes to American and Israeli pop, we deliver performances to delight audiences.

Kolot HaLev

Dr. Ramón Tasat Musical Director, Kolot HaLev

A choir where everyone willing to sing is allowed to participate. Members are not required to audition. Our premise is that with enough love, dedication and guidance everyone in regular physical conditions can overcome musical difficulties and be able to enjoy singing.

Kolot HaLev performs Jewish musical treasures from Jewish communities across the world. The choir performs music ranging from liturgical works to folk songs and gospel music sung in Hebrew, English, Yiddish, Ladino, Italian, Russian and Spanish.

The 2017 Annual concert was devoted to Kol Isha—Jewish Women across the Times, when Schubert’s Miriam’s song of Triumph was premiered in the Washington DC area, including a brand new libretto. Kolot HaLev has performed in various venues including the Jewish Heritage Museum in New York City, Arlington National Cemetery, the Library of Congress and the Italian Embassy in Washington DC among other prominent venues.  KHL has become recognized as a source of highest quality, inspiring Jewish music, catering to audiences that return again and again.

Temple Isaiah’s Shir Isaiah

  • Temple Isaiah’s Shir Isaiah

    Sunday, Dec 17, 2023, 12:30 - 1:00 pm

Shir Isaiah, Temple Isaiah’s (Fulton, MD) adult choir, has been the congregation’s lay musical voice for over 40 years. Marshall Kohen has been its Director and accompanist for the last 20 years. Members come from a variety of Jewish and musical backgrounds, but they share a love of singing, particularly Judaic music. Over the past 20 years, Shir Isaiah has: collaborated with nationally-renowned Jewish artists Elana Arian, Noah Aronson, Rick Recht, Dan Nichols, Jon Nelson, Noam Katz, and Peri Gilpin; participated in two concerts at Strathmore Concert Hall; headlined concerts celebrating Temple Isaiah’s 40th and 50th anniversaries; and led semi-annual All-Music Shabbats, during which Temple clergy join an instrumental ensemble accompanying the choir.
