Love, Labour, Liberals & Conservatives: A Theatrical Town Hall
Saturday, September 29 at 5:00pm
Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing meets Aaron Sorkin’s The West Wing in James Graham’s acclaimed political rom-com, receiving its American premiere at Olney Theatre Center on the eve of the American midterm elections. Join OTC Artistic Director Jason Loewith and Leora Morris, National Director’s Fellowship Director-in-Residence, and director of the American premiere of James Graham’s Labour of Love, for a wide-ranging discussion on the play’s topical themes. After providing an in-depth look at the political history behind the story, and drawing surprising parallels between the rise-and-fall of the left in both the U.S. and the U.K., Morris and Loewith will engage with the audience in a conversation about whether centrists (on the right or the left) can hold on to power in a hyper-partisan climate.
