Our teams love to teach the diverse and rich culture of South Asia through music, dance, and movement! Our goal is to create an interactive space for audiences to engage and be active. 

2:00 PM - Chai Dynamics

Bernard Family Theatre

Chai Dynamics is an adult Jewish a cappella group associated with Tikvat Israel Congregation in Rockville, MD. We have been bringing college-style Jewish a cappella music to the community since 2009. Our performances feature Jewish and secular music using standard and original arrangements, dynamic harmonies, and vocal percussion. Whether uplifting hearts during religious services, energizing crowds at community events, or celebrating special simchas, Chai Dynamics aims to entertain and inspire. We want to thank Olney Theatre for inviting us to share our music with the community!

2:00 PM - Meghan Moody: The "Draw of Music"

Bernard Family Theatre

Enjoy the intersection of art and music as Meghan Moody draws what she hears. Meghan has been featured at the Fillmore near Washington, DC with the agency RAW Artists, the Tryst Gallery - Leesburg, VA, and at Rhizome-Takoma Park DC.  Ms. Moody has also continued her education, including an international studio class in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Her first solo exhibit is happening right now in Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. Meghan's talent is a new Summerfest feature, and we're glad to have her!

2:00 PM - Musical Theatre Trivia with Nine People's Favorite Thing

Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab

Nine People's Favorite Thing is a modern musical theater radio show on WOWD/Takoma Radio. Musical theater trivia will test participants' knowledge of modern musical theater and enhance their appreciation of modern musical theater composers and lyricists. Instagram: ninepeoplesfave 
 

2:15 PM - Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance

Root Family Stage at Omi's Pavilion

Begun in 1997, The Culkin School of Irish Dance prides itself in having taught over 1000 children and adults Irish Dance for the past 29 years. With locations at Glen Echo Park and in Rockville Md., the Culkin School serves a wide variety of area families and adults, providing the highest standard in Irish dance instruction. Performing at SummerFest 2026 helps us to demonstrate our love of dance to more of our community!  

2:45 PM - Voices of Hope

Bernard Family Theatre

Voices of Hope is a youth chorus using the power of music to inspire change, spread joy, and lift up the voices that need to be heard. We believe that art can be activism and encourage young people stand up, speak out, and sing loud. 

3:00 PM - Sunmoluwa West African Dance Workshop

Come move to the rhythms of West African dance! My goal is to keep dance and movement central. It brings me peace and joy and I want to share that with others.

3:30 PM - Boh Re Mi

Boh Re Mi is Baltimore's premier post-collegiate a cappella group! We are so excited to be invited to sing at Summerfest 2026! Being a part of this event allows us to immerse ourselves in local community arts, and bring our music to new audiences outside of Baltimore City. We sing a variety of music spanning multiple genres and decades. 3:45 PM - Fairfax Chinese Dance Troupe

The Fairfax Chinese Dance Troupe (FCDT) is a non-profit organization passionately dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and understanding through the captivating art of dance. Our diverse group comprises students of all ages from the Greater Washington DC Metropolitan area and Delaware, united by a shared love for Chinese culture and the performing arts.
Through our performances, we aim to transcend language barriers and bridge cultural divides, offering audiences a window into the vibrant tapestry of Chinese traditions. With each graceful movement and meticulously choreographed piece, we strive to illuminate the beauty and depth of various Chinese ethnic groups' lives and cultures, both in China and Taiwan.
 

4:30 PM - Asala Belly Dance

Root Family Stage at Omi's Pavilion

Asala specializes in Egyptian bellydance, various Arab and Persian folk dances, and Bollywood dance. A seasoned artist in the DC area since 2007, she regularly entertains weddings, corporate events, festivals, fundraisers, and birthday celebrations. Her effortless musicality and seamless improvisation are the foundation to her dynamic, interactive performances. Asala has performed alongside British pop star Thomas Dolby, Moroccan pop star Mohamed Reda, and Iranian pop stars The Black Cats, Andy Madadian, and Mansour.
