Update from Olney Theatre Center and 21-22 Season

Dear Members,

The moment you've waited for is almost here!

We are so excited to be returning to live, indoor performances at the end of this month with the DC-area Premiere of The Thanksgiving Play. As we move back into performance mode, we wanted to provide you with a few updates and reminders.

We want to thank you for your patience and faith in us during this long road back and answer a few questions you may have. It's been a while, so there is a lot to cover. While this email is long, it will address many of your concerns.

Most importantly: The membership you purchased back in 2019 or 2020 is still valid for our 2021-22 Season! You have seats reserved at performances for the productions you originally chose, on new dates. Keep reading below to learn more.

  1. You may have already received or will soon receive an email with new print-at-home tickets for the productions you originally chose. Please add the address boxofficesupervisor@olneytheatre.org to your contacts so it does not end up in your spam folder. The email will have the subject line: "Your Print-At-Home Ticket(s) from Olney Theatre Center."
     
  2. You can either print out your tickets ahead of time, or we can scan them directly from your phone at the theatre. Either way, save the email.
     
  3. Review your tickets to make sure we have delivered the productions and dates that you want.
     
  4. Exchanges work exactly the same as they always have. Call or email the Box Office (301-924-3400) to reschedule. You will then be emailed new tickets for your performance.
     
  5. If you are entitled to free tickets or vouchers from your membership, you may have also received "tickets" for them. You do not need to keep those physical tickets, but don't forget to redeem them via our Box Office for specific performances.
     
  6. Unfortunately, we were not able to include Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express in our 2021-2022 Season. If you originally purchased that production, you should have already been contacted and told that you now had tickets for The Joy That Carries You instead. If you would rather not see that production, please contact our Box Office and you can convert the value of those tickets into a donation, a gift certificate, or request a refund.
     
  7. Through at least the end of 2021, masks and proof of COVID vaccination will be required at all performances. Those under 12 who are not yet eligible for the COVID vaccine must be masked and accompanied by a vaccinated adult. At this time, we do not accept proof of a recent negative COVID test in lieu of vaccination. Visit our Health and Safety page for more information. We will continue to evaluate the public health situation as we move into 2022 and share any policy changes with you in a timely manner.
     
  8. We will be able to offer a streaming version of our first production of the year, The Thanksgiving Play for ticket purchasers who may decide not to attend the production in person. Those details will be shared shortly. The availability of future productions via streaming will depend on the willingness of rights-holders to grant us licenses to do so. At this time, there is no expectation that we will be permitted to offer a streamed version of Disney's Beauty and the Beast nor Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
