POSITION: Front of House Manager
POSITION TYPE: Part Time-Non-exempt
REPORTS TO: Patron Services Manager


Olney Theatre Center for the Arts, an award-winning, four-stage, non-profit leading regional
theater in the vibrant Baltimore/Washington, DC region, seeks candidates to serve as part-time
Front-of-House Managers. Reporting to the Patron Services Manager, this position requires
3-30 hours per week during performances and events, including evening and weekend shifts, as
well as occasional daytime shifts and holidays. Outstanding customer service and management
skills, enthusiasm for live performance, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced
environment are required. Olney Theatre Center is an equal-opportunity employer. All applicants

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
● Serve as the primary point of contact for patrons attending live performances and events
● Manage and train Front of House associates and ushers in concert with the Patron
Services Manager
● Ensure patron safety and the overall patron experience
● Oversee set-up/breakdown of the concessions and gift shop
● Prepare and maintain public spaces for public use, including oversight of restrooms,
lobbies, and exterior entryways
● Support other departments with public-facing events, including (but not limited to) donor
events, board meetings, and community engagement activities
● Demonstrate OTC’s Mission, Vision, Values, and Commitment to Social Justice and
Anti-Racism (seen here)
● Other duties as assigned

Requirements
● Must be at least 18 years of age or older
● Open afternoon/evening availability Wednesday through Sunday
● Cheerful attitude and evident willingness to serve and engage with theatre patrons
● Excellent listening, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills
● Experience in previous supervisory positions
● Strong aptitude for learning
● Desire to work as part of a team
● Comfortable working on your feet/remain in standing positions for extended periods of time
● Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
● Point of Sales (POS) experience is preferred
● Reliability and punctuality
● Attention to detail
● Previous experience in customer service roles preferred
● Cash handling experience and computer literacy
● Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
● Reliable transportation
● Product knowledge of beer, wine, and food service encouraged
 

Compensation
• Front of House Managers are paid hourly and work hours depending on their availability
and the Theatre's schedule.
• $20.00 per hour + tips (pooled amongst all FOH associates and Managers)
