I went to see You and I last night, the end of a week, sat in the front row and was spellbound. The actors took control of the characters and off I was into the world of You and I, seeing glimpses of my emotional self peak out as I insisted to myself "I am not an adolescent." I was enthralled, in the stories of Caroline and Anthony (You and I - Leaves of Grass, Walter Whitman), and left in a state of theatrical happiness, satisfied - ah.

This well performed piece left me, the morning after, marveling at the reference to the first person, second person and third person trichotomy universal application borrowed by Whitman and its interplay with the Caroline and Anthony characters. Whitman, a byproduct of the prophetic written word style, sprinkled perfectly throughout the piece, provided the understanding of the Caroline and Anthony engrossing layered reveal excellently!!!!!

I and You is one of the most affecting plays I have ever seen. Beautifully acted. A story that will stimulate my thoughts for perhaps the rest of my life.

I saw this play last Wednesday night and was absolutely blown away by the performance. I also regularly attend the Kennedy Center and I believe this was the BEST PLAY hands-down that I have EVER seen. Keep it up Olney Theatre!

I brought my teenage granddaughters (16 and 18) to see "I and You" with fingers crossed. I was delighted to sense how engaged they were throughout the show and to hear them laugh out loud. I received a text from their mother saying they were still talking about it this am. Not only did they a clever intro to Walt Whitman, but they saw terrific acting and meaningful drama. A "don't miss" for high school and college students and all adults.

I saw last night's show I and You, and was blown away by the performance. The actors were phenomenal and the ending, I never saw coming. I have told all my friends and family they need to get tickets for this show. Thank you Olney Theatre for the job you do to bring affordable, first class theater to our area. I also have season tickets and the Kennedy Center and have never been as moved by a performance there or on Broadway. Keep up the good work!

I've been attending Olney since the days when there was a tree growing in the seating for the main stage, and have had season tickets for almost three decades. I have NEVER seen a more magnificent job of acting than the one yesterday by Thaddeus Fitzpatrick and Rachael Tice in "I and You." The play itself is seriously flawed - the ending is contrived and altogether unbelievable - but the PERFORMANCE is one of the very best you have ever staged.

    Hello Erin,

Thank you for your comment. Which browser are you using? I just checked and it looks like we are currently experiencing problems with Internet Explorer, but it is working in Firefox. Our ticketing agency is aware of this problem and are working to fix it.

Because of the problem our Box Office is receiving almost double the number of phone calls they would normally receive and people are having trouble getting through.

I'll also reach out to you directly through email.

    Take care,
Heather Latiri, Marketing and PR Manager

The King and I was great - really enjoyed Paolo Montalban's interpretation of the King! The Contex Guide is a great idea Hope we will see one for every performance.

I tried to buy tickets both on your web site and your
ticket office. Really, really disappointing that I could not
get through to either point with multiple tries.

Thanks very much for your comments - I'll respond directly to you as well, but wanted you to know I value your thoughts and hope to earn your trust back. I'm sorry that some of our selections during this transition year have not been to your liking. Our aim in splitting our 2014 season into three "mini-seasons" is to make sure the diverse patrons around Olney have clear guidance about our programming... and our advance dramaturgy coming to you via email is now designed to give you a real sense of what to expect when you come to the theater. As I say, I hope we can earn back your trust.
