For listening assistance during performances, our infrared system, which amplifies the sound on stage, is available free of charge. Please ask the house manager for assistance. (This service is not available on the third Wednesday evening of each production's run.)

Sign-Interpreted Performances

Sign interpretation is available for third Thursday performances of each production's run when reserved two weeks in advance and will be provided based on the availability of qualified interpreters and at the discretion of the management. Additional interpreted performances can be scheduled for groups. Please call the box office for more details and specific dates.

Audio-Described Performances

Audio described performances are offered on the third Wednesday evening of each production's run. Audience members may enjoy free broadcast pre-show program notes and descriptions of the action, scenery and costumes during pauses in the dialogue from any seat in the theater. The Metropolitan Washington Ear provides this service. In addition, the Metropolitan Washington Ear will provide escorts to audio-described performances for patrons who are visually impaired. (Olney Theatre Center will provide a free ticket for the Metropolitan Washington Ear escort.) Please call 301.681.6636 for more information on this and other services provided by the Metropolitan Washington Ear.
